Work Examples
I have completed projects for corporate clients as well as higher education institutions. The projects shown below have been shared with permission.
I collaborated with the owner of Pride Eye Security to create an online, asynchronous training for future employees. This training was originally given as an in-person learning experience. Learners were given long reading assignments and then attended small group sessions. The owner wanted to expand his business geographically and knew he could not train each new hire himself. He wanted the trainees to be well-informed and actively engaged with the content. I organized the content into 12 modules built with Articulate 360. I also introduced mixed multimedia, such as videos, podcasts, and interactive content. Each module also ends with a knowledge check. Learners must pass this knowledge check to proceed to the next module. Pride Eye Security was able to expand its hiring pool to the entire state of Illinois and offer basic security training classes. Tools used: Articulate 360, Photoshop, WellSaid Text to Speech Generator.
I have also included an example storyboard from this project below.
For this project, I collaborated with Wealthpoint Management and the Baldwin Wallace Division of Community Learning (DCL). WealthPoint Management originally presented this content as an in-person seminar, but they were looking for a way to reach more learners. I designed an asynchronous, online course, that the DCL hosts free for learners. I divided the hour-long presentation into 6 short, focused modules. The learner can view individual modules at their own pace or skip modules irrelevant to their personal finance journey. I created reflection questions at the end of each module to allow learners to personalize the content. This course was developed in Canvas and is hosted on Canvas Catalogue. I used Cidi Labs DesignPLUS plug-in to assist with styling. Tools used: Canvas, CidiLab's DesignPLUS for Canvas, Canva.
The Associate Provost of a University was receiving many inquiries about the newest tech trend, ChatGPT. The Associate Provost wanted to disseminate information that would encourage faculty to adjust their pedagogy without inciting fear. In my analysis, I found there was a wide gap between early adopters of AI in the classroom and those hesitant to try a single prompt. This video helps educators at all experience levels reflect on how their assignments can adapt to a world where learners have access to ChatGPT and other AI tools at their fingertips. I offer insights and strategies on creating assessments in an AI-aware classroom to promote academic integrity. The instructions and thought exercises in this video are designed to assist any educator in reaching their instructional goals, even as the technology used to achieve those goals changes. Tools used: Panopto Video Recorder, Panopto Video Editor, Google Slides.
